Way back in 2014, Valve Corporation introduced team stickers. They were to be acquired by opening special capsules that could be purchased through the Steam Market. No key was required.
Having opened a capsule, a user could get a random team sticker. Meanwhile, a sticker could have been ordinary, holographic, or metallic. Normal stickers are the cheapest ones, holographic and metallic stickers are more expensive. A part of the revenue goes to the teams.

Team stickers were released for the special the occasions (Major Tournaments). For the first time, this happened at EMS Katowice 2014.
Specific stickers were distributed according to the performance of each particular team in Minors. For a team, succeeding in a minor and reaching the Major Challengers Stage secured the release of stickers. The EMS Katowice 2014 Challengers Capsule contained the following teams’ stickers:
By the way, Katowice 2014 stickers are among the most expensive ones nowadays, especially iBUYPOWER, Titan and LGB eSports team stickers. The reason is that the teams have been dissolved and most likely will never play under these names again. Besides, there is a controversial story behind the team iBUYPOWER’s performance. This team was banned by Valve for rigging a match with the team NetcodeGuides. iBUYPOWER players made bets against themselves and earned around 10 000$ on that match, earning a lot of bad rep, a resounding ban, and more bad rep.
The well-known Pick’em Challenge is also worth mentioning here. What is that? That is a prediction contest held within the framework of CS:GO games. For each correctly guessed score, a user gains marks that add up at the end of a tournament.
The number of marks dictates the type of souvenir to be awarded to the user: it can be bronze, silver, or gold. This souvenir is added to his or her in-game inventory. The first Pick’em Challenge and was held during the ESL One Cologne 2014.
In 2015, for the ESL One Cologne 2015 tournament, Valve introduced extra stickers autographed by players. Now, every user has got a chance to apply an emblem with a signature of a favorite player to their weapon.
