What is float in CS:GO skins?

One of the most popular questions among trade novices is: what is that float everybody is talking about?!

Let us show you – everything is easy and clear. Float value is the precise wear value of the skin. This value could be between 0 and 1, where 0 is the least wear.

The float values are used in trading and trade-ups. What’s the connection between float value and skin exterior?

  • 0 – 0.07 Factory New
  • 0.07 – 0.15 Minimal Wear
  • 0.15 – 0.38 Field-Tested
  • 0.38 – 0.45 Well-Worn
  • 0.45 – 1 Battle-Scarred

It’s important to know, that not every skin has the full range of possible values. For example, our beloved AWP | Asiimov exists only in-between values 0.18 and 1. So there’s no Factory New or Minimal Wear AWP | Asiimov in the game.
Ures can’t calculate float values. Since the CS:GO Panorama UI update these numbers can be obtained from CS:GO itself, so you don’t need side services anymore.

While trading, at CS.Money you can mouse over the skin you are interested in or click the right mouse button to see skin’s float value.

Usually, the better condition your skin is in, the more it’s worth. The skin that is closer to the Minimal Wear and looks Minimal Wear is a valuable one. For example, the Crimson Web Knifes´ value heavily depends on the float value.

Note! The float value does not decrease or increase when you use the gun, so you can use your skins without worrying that you’ll spoil it.
