Slight changes have been made to the set of matchmaking maps. The community maps Austria and Subzero were let go, and Zoo and Abbey, which are already familiar to the player, were introduced instead.
Austria’s case is clear – there are several places on the map that give birth to questions, for example, the wall between the base of the attack and point A, which can be shot through from one side only. Everything is more complicated with Subzero. Most likely the map was simply not popular enough.
Biome underwent minor changes. The changes concerned point A and the center of the map. The connector between the long and the short on A was removed, a ladder was added to the center of the map and the lower entrance was removed. Also, base T was moved a little. Now the defense at point A will have to play a little more passively. There were performance alterations: replacement of three-dimensional grass on the rocks to a two-dimensional analog.
A few sound issues have been fixed. First of all, the sound of a jump, if you jump with a knife in your hands while walking, was changed. In fact, the sound started playing at a certain speed with which the character was traveling. Almost all types of weapons did not allow this speed to be reached while walking, but this did not apply to the knife and C4. Now they are no exception.
In addition to the sound of the jump, the sound of taking damage from a fall was corrected, and the order of pronunciation of the lines: “the bomb has been defused” and “counter-terrorists win” was corrected. Now they can not overlap each other. Hooray.
Last but not least, the Prime status update. Now, to obtain it, there is no need to connect the phone number. It is enough to reach the 21st level of experience and the status will be assigned to the account automatically. It is difficult to say whether this will lead to an influx of cheaters. Will VACnet together with Trust Factor cope with a torrent of dishonest players?
Inquisitive players have found traces of work performed involving animation of surrender. Previously, this animation was used in the German version of the game. There, because of censorship, it was impossible to show liters of blood and corpses, so instead of turning into an immovable corpse, the enemies simply raised their hands, lay their faces on the floor and gave up.
Interestingly, the traces found are associated only with models for the royal battle mode, and the animation itself is incomplete. It breaks off in the middle, at the moment where the character is on the knees with raised arms. Probably, when future updates come, Valve will add the functionality of “picking up and carrying” injured allies at dangerous zones maps.
